Donations made to the General Zakat Fund are strictly utilized for all of our zakat-eligible programs and initiatives that directly help to benefit the poor and needy (primarily from the Muslim community) locally within Canada. Decisions on what initiatives qualify as Zakat-eligible are made in consultation with local scholars and experts and based on the most widely agreed upon Islamic principles & rulings (Fiqh) of Zakat.
